While we were staying in Wellington, we stayed at the Ngatitoa Domain at Mana.
It was a quick 40 minute trip into Wellington.
It was also possible to buy a all day rail pass for off peak and weekends for $14.
Our other visit was to the Police Museum. It's a small museum packed with information on cases, New Zealand and sometimes world firsts. A young girl about 8 was playing slueth with her Dad looking for who-dunit-clues.
The Domain is free to stay at and offers views of Porirua Harbour entrance.
We got on our bikes and cycled the nearby cycleway to Plimmerton to the North and the Cambourne Walkway around the Pauatahanui Inlet to the East.
